Dreaming a Song
Skirmish: Write about the experienc... (@robinleaf)Liner Notes
#folkrock
It is the result of years of practice, I know, but still, I can marvel at the dreamlike quality of songwriting.
Lyrics
The pieces are always familiar
Words I have heard many times
The melody comes out of the vapor
And somehow the whole thing rhymes
I am dreaming a song into being
There is not much for me to do
Dreaming a song into being
And sending it off to you
Who knows where this song might go
Once I release it into the wind
It is too much for a writer to know
Too much for a mind to take in
I am dreaming a song into being
There is not much for me to do
Dreaming a song into being
And sending it off to you
Maybe this song
Has just come along
As practice for a bigger stage
Maybe next week
I’ll be ready to speak
A universe out of its cage
But for now the words and melody
Are enough to wonder about
How do they flow so easily
Swooping in and soaring back out
I am dreaming a song into being
There is not much for me to do
Dreaming a song into being
And sending it off to you

and even though i know you meant it in more general way--- in my specific and immediate interpretation is that your song came to another place in the world, on another continent, and maybe people who walk in the hallway are also listening to your song right now as I listen to it. I really like this line. I enjoyed reading the lyrics throughout the song and I like where you took this skirmish. congrats on another song rick.
