Skirmish: The Letter I Never Sent (@rosiebans)Liner Notes
#folkrock
A dystopian scenario for the skirmish on letters never sent.
Lyrics
We don’t live in an era when we can speak our minds
That is the privilege of happier times
There might still be a way for us to live our dreams
That’s if we find a way to get them past the machines
I didn’t have to tell you so
If you know you know
So much of our lives can never be spoken
There’s no song for the dreamer or the hearts that were broken
Only love and light and chivalry
No place for what’s true about you and me
I didn’t have to tell you so
If you know you know

I think that self censorship is the worst kind and the most insidious. Great track and great message.

I love the chorus, so simply phrased and intentionally cryptic. I'm also a big fan of "There’s no song for the dreamer or the hearts that were broken." A very impressive write, particularly for a skirmish

Interesting concept for a song. Dystopian folk rock. I can dig it 🙂 No place for what’s true about you and me. If you know you know. Sparks a lot of thought…

I liked the changing rhythms in the melody line. Also great rhyming with chivalry and you and me. Great little skirmish!
