Another song for the concept album/(synth) rock opera (which goes part of the way towards explaining the odd lyrics I hope).

This song began as an acoustic guitar lick recorded in September I labelled "little Devo riff". It expanded a bit from there...

Quick and dirty vocal barely even mixed - only get so much done on a lunch break from work! I can hear parts where the vocal should be layered a bit differently,, slight tweaks to melodic parts as it goes on, etc. But this will do as a demo. The backing track is basically there though.

This is great. The synths are perfect 80s. Drums sound fantastic too ... and those chord changes, especially in the "i wish i had a time machine" phrase. Love the solo too. So much going on here. This is proper hit material ... in the 80s ... if only we had a time machine.

Man, your stuff is always so hooky. This just kicks ass right out of the gate. British invasion vibes with some great chord changes in addition to the obvious Devo nod. This is great.

Such synthy goodness! I want to dance around my living room listening to this, it’s such a catchy bop. Favorite line: “when i went to bed last night, i could swear / that we had a president without malware”.

What else do you want to do to it? It sounds pretty awesome as is. I enjoyed that a lot. It’s inspiring me to play around with some more new wave sounds. Thank you for that!

This is so catchy. I was immediately drawn in to it and did not want it to end. This song is very easy to dance to. 100% hear the DEVO vibes and also feel some They Might be Giants as well. What a bop, definitely a winner here. 🐸

I definitely hear the Devo influences, even as other parts go into more lush territory that is equally exciting. High energy and gloriously synthy, I'd be very happy to hear a whole rock opera like this. I see you already have several posted, and I'll definitely be checking them out.
