Eye On That Triangle

Lyrics

Dsus
Bobby traps the shimmer
Em9
in caligular incestment
Gmaj7 #11
Perinatal flora in the basement

Shelley tangoes in the dark
around centroid fluids
skillfully entombed by jolly druids

Amaj7
Take me back to me, my love
Am7
Take me back to Django
Bm7 E7
Keep an open eye on that triangle

They name the baby Orwell
If it does him any good
Now he's the only poet in the neighborhood

The glass has been unbroken
and Philip's in the clouds
Those radiocrowds are getting much too loud

I was dancing along to that rhythm in the chorus - trying to remember if it’s a samba. The fluid floating explicit rhymes and names are fun to listen to.

If this was playing in the background somewhere I would first think it was some swanky yet unassuming jazz but then tune in to the lyrics and be like "whoa, what in the baby Orwellian heck is going on here?!" Pleasantly bizarre... or bizarrely pleasant.

hurray! love the (day)dreamy hooky chorus and the triango rhyme is as irresistible as it is elusive. is a fandango lurking between the lines? film composers, religious musicals, mystical symbols and visionary writers certainly are...
gotta love the poet in the neighbourhood !

I feel better about my lyric after seeing this! It’s in a somewhat similar vein, lovely guitar mate! Nice song

you guitar playing is wonderful ,as are the melodies. i love the esoteric lyrics, even when i dont get the references. i mean, how can anybody not love the phrase "caligular incestment?"
