Skirmish: Say What You Mean to Say (@hmstreetteam)

Liner Notes

Okay, so I already had the drums and rhythm guitar, but the rest of it I can do for the skirmish. I've decided to make all the words single syllables. That is, all but one.

Lyrics

I know, I know

I have no doubt
I know what it is
That makes you stop
And start to think
That sense of guilt
When you've been shamed
A look, a frown
A word of blame

I know, I know

I know the truth
It is not real
They paint your deeds
In the worst light
It's all for the game
And not what is real
And I know what it is
The prize they try to steal

They fight in your mind
They fight for your heart
And not for love
But just to own
And they'll throw you away
Once they have their way
And you're no more use

I know what it is
I know, I know

Well done in using one-syllable words all the way through. Nice write recognizing the impacts of manipulation. Great jangly sound.

I was going to say that there was no way you could have produced this in an hour, and then read your notes. Some really good and now's-the-right-time lyrics.
Your playing is very crisp. Nice vid!

Very 60’s. Could hear Cream or Hendrix doing this. Kudos.
