Yesterday I had to do an intake interview for a DBT group I am just starting. I'm pretty stoked about it, but, intake interviews always suck and there are triggers, for me, that they always walk all over that I've gotten better at ignoring. Its still frustrating though. The biggest one is shrinking my frustrations with macro conditions (insane cost of rent, addictions out of control, a tyrant as President, the fact we cannot consume basically anything without becoming culpable in very deep and serious human suffering) down to "you can't control these things so just ignore them" kind of answers. It pisses me off every time because if everyone ignores it the problems just get worse and more entrenched.

More importantly -- with those macro conditions dealt with, much of the mental health and addiction problems we see, just wouldn't exist. This isn't to say that therapy and pharmaceutical help wouldn't ever be needed, but so much less often and often for different things.

Lyrics

Psychiatrists, physicians
Try and diagnose, the condition
Big questions, small answers
Doubt and despair grow like cancer

Say what you need to say x2

Words, won’t come
Words, won’t come x2

Just fuck
Fuck fuck fuck

Therapists, clinicians
In a war they can’t win against addiction
Falling wages, macro conditions
A shrink can not change the margins

Wow. This is an incredible piece of work. Love the lyrics, the guitar and your vocals… the “fuck, fuck fuck, just fuck” is brilliant. We’ve all been there! .. Hope the entry interview went well.

I love the simple guitar accompaniment with the nice combo/contrast of picking and strumming (and silence). Great vocal delivery as well, perfectly suited to the powerful lyrics.

I definitely feel a lot of solidarity with these lyrics!

I love the way the whole song illustrates the repressed frustration. The contrast in melody is a nice touch that adds to the effect. Powerful stuff!

These are trying times, indeed. And sometimes the only response is a NSFW interjection. Beautiful guitar work, and the vocals perfectly fit the music.
