The lights are on at number 2
I didn’t mean to pry, but it’s something I do
I saw someone cleaning the kitchen sink
I think they had another party last night
Don’t think she lives there, she doesn’t look the type
Could be a cleaner, I don’t think I’ve seen her before

Now it’s time for the windows, she’s being quite thorough
From one to the other then out the front door
The lights are out now, there’s nothing to see
It’s time for the streetlights, slightly later each day
This time of year
She left on her bike, and went her own way
I’ll put down my pen for another day
