Stuck on an ending with you

Liner Notes
Evidently today is international Play Your Ukulele Day. So that explains that.
This one started with a personal challenge to write a song with a refrain in AABA form. As I tried humming a melody over the progression, the phrase “with you” kept getting stuck in my head. “Not surprising,” I thought, “I always get stuck on an ending with “you”.” And there you have it.
This one might benefit from an instrumental break after the B section.
Lyrics
I put on your shirt today
Took it from beneath my bed
Just so I could smell the smell of you
I’m stuck, stuck on an ending with you
I know there’s a part of me
Who remembers who I was before
Before you left me, you left me bruised
I’m stuck, stuck on an ending with you
I wish that I could move on,
That I would heal, and I could be strong
I put on your shirt today
Like the thousand times before
And dreamed of the ending I should have had with you
I’m stuck, stuck on an ending with you
Stuck, stuck on an ending with you
I’m stuck, stuck on an ending with you

Love how it captures how difficult it is to move on
Fantastic vocals.
I’ve got lots of uke friends in Madison.
