Liner Notes

The idea stemmed from frustration at people so focused on their own deal they fail to see how their actions impact the larger world around them.

What I liked: I really liked the repeated phrases as build ups into the chorus, and overall I think the lyrics point back to the main idea/title/chorus. I like the idea of starting inside a person and zooming out in each verse. I also like the piano on this one.

What I’d like to change: Increase the tempo. Add a hook at the beginning. Maybe there’s a melody problem in the verses? I may have gotten too metaphorical in the verse lyrics, and lost clarity in the picture … say what you want to say, Christie! I especially don’t like the “on the surface” and “an overflowing cup” lines. Not sure if this gets too preachy and screechy. 🤷‍♀️ 🤔
