Lyrics

Just Draw the Line
Verse 1:
You say you’re helping, but you’re in the way,
Always got advice, even when I didn’t ask today.
You’re cleaning up my mess, rearranging my space,
But now I can’t find a single thing in this place.

What happened here? I know you mean well,
But sometimes your kindness is hard to dispel

Chorus:
I need a finger, a pop-up finger,
When you finish my sentence, it’s crossing the line,
Can’t you see from the look on my face,
That I’ve got this, I’m doing just fine?

I need a finger, to be my trigger,
When you’re offering help for the hundredth time,
No need for advice when I’m giving the signs,
The look on my face should draw the line.

Verse 2:
You keep tagging me on social media,
But I’ve already told you no, I don’t want to see ‘ya
You’re too nosy for me, 1-2-3, what’s happening
I need my space back , you’re much too challenging

I know you care, I see it clear,
But sometimes your help’s the thing I fear.

Chorus:

Bridge:
I know you want to lend a hand,
But sometimes you’ve just gotta understand,
I don’t need you fixing everything,
What’s happening, just let me breathe.

Chorus:

I like your take on the prompt. Super-fun idea and perspective to what could be a serious topic. Love your voice as usual! I also like the way you occasional shift from singing to an almost speaking voice and then right back, very cool.

"I know you care, I see it clear,
But sometimes your help’s the thing I fear."

Cool fun song, and I think we probably all know someone like that

A good over-the-top story about someone a lot of us will recognize. I like the way the song plays both sides of the mood, bouncing between exasperation and patient good humor.

Fun lyrics, charming delivery! As always, I love your voice, and the chime of the mandolin is sweet, too. Good skirmishing!
