Challenge: Short And Sweet

Liner Notes

This is about a tugboat captain who one night went out on a joyride, and maybe never came back.

Lyrics

I'm a tugboat captain, bringing the big ships in
In the harbor daily I labor then start all over again.

Seagulls and sea spray, cold wind and sun and rain
with my boat on call, from port to the deep-sea lanes

I love my boat. I love my boat. I love to be on the sea

I'm a tugboat captain, bringing the big ships in
In the harbor daily I labor then start all over again.

But the stars brought me out, brought me too far
in my little tugboat, beyond the sandbars I found myself way out to sea,
way out to sea

Night has fallen all around me, telling me now that I am home
Infinite stars and infinite sea. Never more am I alone

I love my boat. I love my boat. I love to be on the sea
I love my boat. I love my boat. I love to be on the sea
my little tugboat and me

This is sweet -- it could almost be a child's singalong song, with a bittersweet edge. It's not unhappy at all, so I don't mind the drifting off to sea aspect. In that way, it feels expansive and philosophical. Lovely stuff.
