The Whatever Song

Liner Notes

I just wanted to share that song I made a bit earlier this year. I tried to make a love song, but whatever I touch it turns into something more dark and depressing. #rock #pop #indierock #lovesong

Lyrics

(Verse)
I‘m just a simple-hearted boy
I came here for coffee breaks and cake
The legacy of someone gone
Footsteps that I could never take

(Bridge)
I didn’t know that all the choices we make
We do because of someone
Choice is never given
As nothing‘s ever given

(Refrain)
Guess what
I might love you forever
But you said
Yay yay yay whatever
And if I‘d stay here would you mind
You said yay yay yay that’s fine

(Chorus)
We can overcomplicate it
And find dead flowers on the floor
I can tumble and fall right into pieces
I can likewise fall for you
I would rather fall for you

(Verse)
Some say there’s reason to believe
But we choose reason, not belief
Still we assume some thing‘s begun
Some time in 1981

(Bridge)
We didn’t know that all the choices we‘d make
We would do because of someone else
Choice is never given
As nothing‘s ever given

(Repeat…)

So interesting how sometimes songs take their own take on turn our decisions into different ones. Your song is beautiful, Ritschi. Beautiful vocals and singing. Moving story and delivery. Unfortunately many people can relate to this situation. Very well expressed, with heart and soul. The very few last seconds you might like to adjust as they come after the song is finished.
