Weight of the Stone
Skirmish: "THE STONE IN MY HAND" (@corinnecurcio)Liner Notes
Lyrics
Strength is earned not given
Muscle is the result of burden
Beauty is done every day
Sit too long and it fades away
Flattery is empty
It only shows that you do not understand
See the strength of my back
And see the weight of the stone in my hand
You’ve got the story all wrong
The singer is the song
There is no writer without the page
Wisdom grows with age
Flattery is empty
It only shows that you do not understand
See the strength of my back
And see the weight of the stone in my hand
Purpose then struggle then virtue
So choose your purpose won’t you
Flattery is empty
It only shows that you do not understand
See the strength of my back
And see the weight of the stone in my hand

So much truth and insight in these lyrics. Thanks for joining in the skirmish!
Beautiful title, lyrics, singing and playing. So wonderful to listen to. What a fantastic take on the prompt. So poetic and sincere.
Fine meditation on humanity and our struggles.
If I may make a little suggestion.
Perhaps the line: "Beauty is done every day"
would be better "Beauty is found every day"
or if by "done" you imply create, then why not
"Beauty is created every day"

Great title, and I like how the "weight of the stone" line lands in your lyric, both the words and musically. I can so relate to dealing with struggle, but real and perceived (and also as a writer).
The commentary on life and the wonderful perspective you bring to it is really insightful. The first stanza draws me in… and I love the “strength of my back” the “weight of the stone in my hand”. I love the humanism perspective.
Life's journey is tougher for some than others. The words are written with emotion, and felt by those who understand. Super song here.
So much truth in this! I love the "there is no writer without the page"! Great song!
Great lyrics and delivery, making for a really enjoyable song. Like the wisdoms called out within it. Great skirmish effort
