Liner Notes

let’s talk about the songs I put out y’all missed, so go listen to my zongs which I spent time on and not this. anyway

Lyrics

One thousand raindrops on your windshield
The wiper misses half of them
So you are stuck with lines across your view
In the office I sit opposite of you
You meet my eyes but that is all you do
You shoot your shot but it goes right through
You missed a lot

It’s words I said, it’s words I crave
“I need to go now”, line disengaged
I need to know how, the lost can be saved
So sorry for all the kids with the chalk on the sidewalk
You paint a scene but the rain comes to quick
Washed away before anyone knew it’s there
You missed a lot

Turn off the TV for a week
You’ll hear last week’s news next month
We’re picking favorites but we’re not biased
Equal opportunity, but someone’s highest
You’ll need to wait your turn before we can serve you
Sit in the back, draw ticket 90 if you hate 80
You missed a lot

I really love the second stanza and the nostalgic poignancy of the imagery. Wonderful response to the prompt.

Good poetic take on the random, scattershot nature of so many things in life.

This is such a creative idea to have three separate stories, but all with you missed a lot. Very compelling!

Cool lyrics. I like the way each verse ends with the 'You missed a lot' refrain. And how the 3 verses are separate vignettes. There are also a lot of very poetic lines in there. Great skirmish entry!
