So I guess this should come with a trigger warning.

This song is effectively an 'aural' suicide note - not mine I hasten to add. The idea is that it describes why your mind can be your own worst enemy.

I know that not everyone likes a repeated chorus to end a song, but it's not quite repeated as one line changes each time. Also, the idea was that the vocal sound went gradually more despairing and primal scream-ish with each round (I know... it's hard to tell the difference with my singing voice!)

For the gear minded people - this was recorded on a Zoom R8. The guitar is an Ovation Celebrity- For the main rhythm part, I recorded it DI'd and at the same time via the internal mics on the R8, then mixed the two sources. The other guitar part is just the DI'd sound. The vocals are again recoded with the R8 mics, there are three layers two slightly panned left and right to give a greater feeling of depth. The drums I kept very simple and are played on an Alesis Performance Pad. The ticking noise at the start and the end were where the mics picked up the metronome from my headphones - I kept it in as I thought it sounded like a clock ticking which was apt for a 'time running out' feel.
