Rise Again

Liner Notes

Started this track last night - again it is a bit hot in the music making room, so I went downstairs with just my laptop and my Native Instruments M32 midi keyboard and a whole load of virtual instruments. I did manage to squeeze a little bit of Fantom piano onto the track.

Partly because I was downstairs and out of my normal environment I decided to start the track in (for me) an unconventional way. I searched for a guitar sound I liked and then built the track around that. I have learned although I often have a destination in mind, if I start from somewhere unusual, it can change what that destination looks like. So I'm quite pleased with this one.

Used to make this track:
Reaper DAW
Native Instruments: Session Guitarist Electric Mint, Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass, Studio Drummer, Ignition Keys (Choir),
Heavyocity Staccato Strings
Several layered Fantom pianos

I like the flowing feeling from the modest beginning with the chorused guitar. The distorted guitar is becoming a bit too loud from around 1:21 to hide its unnatural origin - but never mind ;) I love the string sound and melody at 1:06.
A nice dreamy piece altogether. Relaxing.

Gorgeous! Light and airy, lots of sparkle. And got a great rhythm.

I can see why you built the track around the guitar sound - it is amazing. Beautiful composing and playing - and of course production on this. I love the recurring theme that underlies the whole piece. Lovely sounds well blended - a real treat for my ears. The delicate piano is especially lovely. Nice light touch on the strings. The high synth sound also adds a lovely ethereal feel to the piece. Wow this is really good!
