The Sense God Gave Me

If someone could point to the song(s) that I stole this melody from, that'd be awesome. The poor grammar is intentional just to rub my friend @drchordate the wrong way.

Lyrics

I don't got no cigarettes
I don't got a thing to drink
I don't got no extra money
I don't got the brains to think

I don't got the gift of patience
In what I do or what I say
I only ever find more worries
Almost every goddamn day

'Cause if I had the sense God gave me
I wouldn't do the things I do
I would've cut my losses early
I wouldn't fall in love with you

I don't have no education
I don't ever read a book
I don't notice personality
I always jump before I look

And I don't want to get in trouble
But that's all I ever find
If a woman wants to hurt me
Then I've got to make her mine

'Cause if I had the sense God gave me
I wouldn't do the things I do
I would've cut my losses early
I wouldn't fall in love with you

I don't want a fancy house
I don't want a flashy car
All I want is some whiskey
And a stool next to the bar

Don't you dare sit right next to me
OR say you'll gladly lend an ear
Won't you promise to keep moving,
While I drink whiskey and a beer?

'Cause if I had the sense God gave me
I wouldn't do the things I do
I would've cut my losses early
I wouldn't fall in love with you
I would've cut my losses early
I wouldn't fall in love with you

Was feeling like a sing along pub song and then the part about drinking whiskey hit and sealed the deal. Like the ending to the verses throughout but the "I don't notice personality I always jump before I look" and "If a woman wants to hurt me
Then I've got to make her mine". O and the whiskey and beer drinking as well, of course.

I like how the rhythm propels and how the hint of the relationship happens in the last verse. +1 on the classic country feel.

Great muted percussive strum. I can' t place the melody to any song I know, but I think it kind of sounds like a classic melody in a way - but with a fresh indie kind of vibe. I really liked how the story played out - excellent character development and we really feel for this guy who is drawn to women keeps getting his heart broken. Cool vibe in the song also.
