I've been saying throughout 50/90 that I intend on developing my so-called "Looper's Delight" setup & performance methodology throughout the summer. This is my first real step along that path. I'm satisfied with the result & have jotted down a number of notes regarding my "Live" setup & my current performance methodology (see notes below in the "Lyrics" section). I can see my next steps & will continue to experiment & tweak things as the summer rolls along.

There isn't much to this, just my Strat & my "Live" Jeskola Buzz Setup. The "Bass" is provided c/o FSM's TunaMan (Pitch Shifted FX) applied to my Strat, while the rest is just the guitar looped in Mobius & then improvised over. This is more about methodology then musicality. But, the result, musically, isn't too bad either.

As for the title? Well, it sort of just came to me. Guess I was thinking about the Teflon Don or something, for some strange reason… Not sure if it even fits the music, but… meh… whatever. This was about the method, not the music anyway 😁

I hope you enjoy.

See You In The Shadows…

Methodological/Production Notes
=========================

Here are the "Live" Buzz Project routings for reference:

[...]

- The ability to switch between the "Bass" & Guitar is rather smooth. Even switching these inputs in Mobius is smooth.
- Thinking ahead: Adding Synths & Drums will not be as smooth. Suggestion: re-organize the input/output channels in Mobius to improve workflow.
- "Bass" tones achieved through FSM's TunaMan are quite good, tho a 24 Step (2 Octave) reduction to the tone is far too much. 12 Steps (1 Octave) is plenty to achieve a satisfactory "Bass" tone from the Stratocaster.
- Thinking back to re-organizing input/output channels in Mobius: perhaps looking at the routing in general would be wise. A more streamlined approach to the effects might make the workflow smoother. Will need to investigate this possibility…
- Is the current "2 Tier" effects approach necessary? IX PatchBay allows for a wide variety of routing options that could be explored more fully. These options, tho, are limited by their selectability via the FCB1010. Must look at pros/cons of "2 Tier" vs. "1 Tier" routing.

If anyone is interested, I've put together a bit of a so-called "Production Package" that includes a Power TAB file of the song, a PDF version of the Power TAB score/tabulature, as well as the Bass, & Bass + Main Riff Mobius Loops (both as a complete Mobius Project file, & as individual WAV files). If you'd like a copy of this "Production Package", let me know in the comments section below & I can send you a Dropbox link so you can download it.

Very nocturnal sounding, good pace for being alone at night, has a gentle feeling in the sound.

" This was about the method, not the music anyway" ❤️
The bass is the Strat?? Nice!
Reading your notes is like catching a glimpse of your alchemist lab through an ajar window. And you're right, the music is not bad, hehe. Actually it's the perfect soundtrack for this scene. Funny fact: while reading your liner notes, I forgot it was loop stuff I was listening to, and just let the flow carry me.
Thanks for sharing.

Yippee!!! I'm excited to see where all you go with this :D I don't know the technical stuff very well but it all sounds super cool! I would totally be interested the "Production Package" to poke around in. The Buzz settings are angels to me. Be Not Afraid lol. It's so neat! I really like the musicality in this one, though I know it wasn't the focus. It's cool how the method can influence the feel of the music! Different technique, different sound. Awesome stuff!

The pitch shifting of the Strat to get the bass line part gives it a rather spectacular wobble that I *really* like. I'm also enjoying the vibe, which comes across as a mashup between The Cure and Ennio Morricone. Man, I would pay to go and see that tour...

I don't think this needs drums or anything else. It's super just as it is.
