I couldn't help myself--I finished another song about that novel I was commissioned to write a song for. I initially presented them with three concepts and was asked to finish two of them. This is the third one, not as strong as "The Stranger" or "My Blue Eyes," but still really fun!
Lyrics
he eludes you
You're like a moth that's drawn to the flame
She'll confuse you
Got you dizzy from making the chase
You want to know her
How many hoops are you willing to jump?
You want to know her
But knowing is not enough
Oh, oh
She's a dark Summer
The heat on your skin in the dead of July
A dark Summer
Sparks exploding in the back of your mind
It's the fear, it's the fury, it's the fire
She's the fear, she's the fury, she's the fire
She provokes you
It drives you wild with desire
She awoke you
Now all you want is to take her higher
You've got her safe now in the wings of your embrace
You know the way down
But it's a fall you're willing to take
Oh, oh
She's a dark Summer
The heat on your skin in the dead of July
A dark Summer
Sparks exploding in the back of your mind
It's the fear, it's the fury, it's the fire
She's the fear, she's the fury, she's the fire
Bring her back to heaven if you can
Live for her affection, it's a candle turned inferno
Bring her back to heaven if you can
But take it slow
Take it slow
She's a dark Summer
The heat on your skin in the dead of July
A dark Summer
Sparks exploding in the back of your mind
She's a dark Summer
The heat on your skin in the dead of July
A dark Summer
Sparks exploding in the back of your mind
It's the fear, it's the fury, it's the fire
She's the fear, she's the fury, she's the fire
