Howdy, friends! Here's one of two songs I've been commissioned to write by a VERY cool author duo for their upcoming book. This song takes place from the villain's perspective, and they are speaking to the heroine throughout the song.
The lyrics will be a little vague in places due to their specificity to the source material, but I hope you enjoy nonetheless! Thank you for listening!
ALSO I want to send a HUGE thank you to everybody who's been listening and commenting on my offerings this 50/90! I do my best to keep up with thanks and returning the favors, but it's pretty hectic around here and there are many days where all I can do is keep my head down and stay focused on what's right in front of me. It means the world to me that so many of you are invested in my work, and are so encouraging at that!
Lyrics
My, my, my, what pretty eyes you have
1015 at night, feel the darkness as you start to unravel
Strolling through your head of memories
Malice in my eyes inside your dreams
Beware the stranger in the dark
He means to do you harm
Hide behind your Morningstar
Try to run, I'll chase you even farther
Beware the stranger in the dark
My, my, my, look who came out looking for a fight
Whatcha plan to do with that necklace and your holy knife?
I doubt you grasp the trouble that you're in
Facing me's like sparring with the wind
Beware the stranger in the dark
He means to do you harm
Hide behind your Morningstar
Even all that armor won't alarm me
Beware the stranger in the dark
Press the blade into your fingertips
Trace the symbols on your skin
No more stalling, this is sink or swim
Are you ready for the end to begin?
Beware the stranger in the dark
He means to do you harm
Hide behind your Morningstar
All you'll do is make it harder for yourself
Beware, beware
Beware the stranger in the dark

Hard to wrap my head around a villain singing this. I'll have to mull it over.
