Liner Notes
Today I'm doing live accompaniment for the silent film _Der Golem_, and I've worked out various motifs for the improvised accompaniment. Here I've worked some of them into a short fantasy, working in dramatic and folk-like elements. This came out right on the first take, so I'm going with it. #improvisation #onetake

I don't know the film (not really a film person). That said, the various parts do seem designed to suggest storytelling and invite the imagination to produce matching dramatic scenes.

@fuzzy I livestreamed the movie with my accompaniment on YouTube earlier this month, before doing it live today. (It was in a public library, not a movie theater, but same idea.) There are some technical issues with the video, which repeatedly freezes for a couple of seconds, but the sound comes through clearly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5OYVssB9Cw
You know, I've always wanted to see this iconic film but have never been able to track down a copy.
I think that modern soundtracks for silent films should be more of a thing.
Love the harpsichord noodling.
Ah, then the deeply satisfying deep woodwinds.
So you're doing this *live*, like in front of an audience?!
Like in a movie theatre?!?
I hope all goes well for you!!!
Break a leg!!
First take, eh?
Excellent work.
