My tablet battery died and I ran out of breath at the same time — guess that was my last take! 😂

Today is Day 4 of @sarahspencermusic ‘s #songfancy #5in5songchallenge to write 5 songs in 5 days. I decided to take one of the word bank words (breeze) and see if I had an already written lyrical draft from last summer’s skirmishes that used that word — and I did.

The musical prompt was to write a “careful and observant melody” — I got out my baritone and worked on the verse melody with that in mind, but the prechorus and chorus picked up a different energy. I’m still fiddling with the rhythm a bit, but what else is new?!

p. s. I was briefly a teen criminal who swam in outdoor motel pools without being a guest there, but I got caught and I am reformed. 😅
