"and it was AWESOME!"

Liner Notes

This was a beat I started working on when I went back to the Visy Cares Hub (a youth centre) in Sunshine on the 28th of November 2023. At the time, they started up a new music program called Flowlab.

I don't have access to the original project so I recreated the beat based off my phone recording of the playback from the speakers. I used virtual instruments on Mixcraft.

The track was a collaborative effort between myself and Dave Di Paolo, the facilitator of Flowlab. It was a group effort; everyone who was present could contribute to the song and make their own version of it.

In the second half of the track I watched a teenage boy rapping some freestyle lyrics and recording them over the music. I thought it was funny and I recorded this on my phone, and this is taken from the secret recording.
In Mixcraft, I moved this recording to the right channel. I applied the 'Psychedelic Drops' auto-filter effect, and 'Hungover' delay to make the recording hard to recognise.

Lyrics

I went to the shop, to buy some, some mr beat (?) chocolate. i went to buy and I ate some prime (?). I went home and played on my Xbox. I play GTA for 24 hours. I didn't get bored, because I ate mr beat (?) chocolate. I drank some prime (?), and I. And I drive a Tesla. It was, it was AWESOME!

I went to the shop, to buy mr bit (?) chocolate. and I bought some prime (?). And I went home to play on my Xbox. I play GTA for 24 hours. I didn't get bored, because I drank a lot of prime (?), and I ate, eat mr big (?) chocolate. I drove a Tesla. And it was AWESOME!

I like the instrumental track very much, and the field recording sample is intriguing! Probably Mr. Beast chocolate, which (like Prime, a beverage marketed as the creation of Logan Paul) is a product made by an incredibly popular "content creator." An ode to brands and youth culture from your unknowing collaborator is twisted/distorted in a thought-provoking way.
