Black Swans, Numurkah, July 2024

by @timfatchen Mod

Liner Notes

A week spent lakeside being entertained by the antic of the FOMO coots, the little grebes, the interspecific punch ups and arguments over breadcrumbs between noisy miners, crows, magpies, coots, swamphens, Neighborhood Watch aka mudlarks...but behind them, in the backwater, the black swans serenely going about their business, even when "serenely" included seeing other swan families off their patch.

Composed on site with the miniature Korg keyboard, this #slow almost #ambient #cello trio plus #stargazer #shimmer reverb attempts to catch the feel of the swans on the water, moving and deep dabbling, and not the Keystone Cops of the coots, for which clown cars and gahooga horns would be more appropriate.

This captures perfectly the feeling of watching swans, to muse, to contemplate. Peace, awesome

This would make excellent exit music follwing the ballet Swan Lake. People would be leaving the theatre gracefully, no pushing or running to beat the congestion in the parking garage. I like the second half the best, which is probably why i thought of writing th above. I just felt like I was exiting a theatre in a very satisfied mood.
