“The Storm of You” - #fawm 50/90 2024 song 20

This needs to slow down a tad but sometimes I just get excited by where a song is going and I push the tempo. I quite like this lyric draft from last summer and I’m glad to get around to setting it to music even if I arguably write too much about storms/rain.

24 skirmish lyrics to go!

Lyrics

Send up the balloon
Tell me why the sky is red
What’s your weather? Now it’s noon
You’re directly overhead.

You are the most amazing storm
You’re landing on me like a war
And I will not take shelter from your wind
In cellars, I won’t flinch
Under your energy
No, I’m where I want to be
Under the storm of you
(Under the storm of you)
The storm of you

Satellite and tower:
Tell me what the forecast shows
You keep gathering in clouds
Let it rain, I’ll ask for more

CHORUS

And I don't think that you're all flash
You’re ozone, you’re the crash
You’re pure as electricity
I want you moving over me

CHORUS

Very polished and smooth. Love watching your videos, And this song is very good listening.

I'd argue that it's just the right tempo. I love the cadence of your delivery on your lyrics. I think they bounce off the uke almost in almost percussive fashion at this tempo. Great write and performance!

I’ve listened to a number of your songs. You have a wonderful way of coming up with complex, interesting lyrics. And the uke is great.

Very cool metaphor and a poignant and a powerful strong and delivery. Superb singing and playing, with true passion.

Gorgeous metaphor song. I love how it’s the storminess that the narrator is attracted to, a really compelling angle. Particularly enjoyed the delicate melody in the verse. ‘You’re ozone, you’re the crash’ is a killer line. And kudos for how you deal with the unexpected interruption from the motorbike (?). Well done :)

How can one expertly played uke and one exquisitely sung voice sounds so lush and large? This is how!

You are like a storm with the quantity and quality of your songs - congrats! I write a lot about storms too, it's a great metaphor for various problems.
