Liner Notes

Blew out my voice today recording many things including this wannabe Mountain Goats song 😂

For the bug-themed skirmish. #acousticonetake

Lyrics

Watching dragonflies at band camp swimming through the air
And I desperately want to slit my throat right there
Cuz it's too hot and I'm thirsty and I think I will be sick
And my squad leader is on some kind of weird power trip

And the dragonflies don't give a shit
They're in a peaceful dimension where all they do is live

Watching dragonflies from my parents’ veranda
And my violent daydreams are back with teeth and claws
It's too hot and I'm tired and I'm fucking 33
And the voice of productivity is screaming at me

And the dragonflies don't give a shit
They're in a peaceful dimension where all they do is live

And every day I curse the carousel of progress
Everyday I curse the day humans left the forest
Everyday I curse the birth of industry
And everyday I curse our corporate oligarchy

And the dragonflies don't give a shit
They're in a peaceful dimension where all they do is live

And every day I curse the carousel of progress
Everyday I curse the day humans left the forest
Everyday I curse the birth of industry
And everyday I curse our corporate oligarchy

Nicely done! Great energy and just a little underlying rage

Yup. Thos hits the nail on the head. Love your delivery.and the real life details in the story as well as allowing the words to just flow through you

So so good!!! F the corporate oligarchy, let’s all just channel our inner dragonflies

Yesssssssssssssss!!!!!!! I love this fervor. So cathartic

It’s so sarcastic and witty, what a jam session!! I love the cleverness in the rhymes, especially industry and oligarchy. Hell yeah!!

I had to smile at this! Sounded fun to do! The lyrics just fly out and there subtly is such a big message. This is classic!

An interesting take on a return to nature song, most the time you get something sweet and airy, whereas this is straight downhill and tinged with a sort of frantic madness as the singer is laughing at the futility of it all while mother nature sits to the side in it’s usual neutral state.

I also liked the play on the camp counselor and productivity verses conveying a sense of time lapse with the thought of the dragonflies not caring then, not caring now, and will never care.

Love the hook and style! The concept is great too. I am picturing the dragonflies not giving a shit.

There's a lot of words. I too curse are corporate oligarchy. No dragonflies are kind of cool. However camp counselor on a power trip is not great tune.
