Maybe this isn’t quite finished .. I wrote it earlier and then needed an ending .. I think I may cut the coda and obvs there’s no clear chorus .. but I never quite know how a sings gonna be till it’s set. It sounds serious snd I suppose it is. It is about me but with poetic licence. The topic is speaking to the people who judge you mistakenly ( well I sure as hell hope it’s mistakenly as I have no interest in being the sort of person who ‘deserves’ to be cut off.. ) well won’t go into that. Facts don’t matter. But I reckon there’s a lot of people out there that maybe this would resonate with.

Contrived to make them black and dark and horrid
And mostly opposite of what I meant
And threatening to make me hate this life itself
But know I don’t. I love it.

With its convolutions, connotations, contradictions,complications
With this urge to love so bursting out
With burgeoning and blossoming and breaking free and being beautifully ..
the falling on the deaf ears so challenging and .. yet..
with all of this
My words are nothing but little gestures of acknowledgement.
Not things to misconstrue at all.
They’re devoid of meaning unless you find a contradiction in
‘I love you. ‘

I am used to being misunderstood
I reach to show you what is there
You turn my picture into hurts and quarrels
I’m used to burying my head and embracing solace
In eternals
- the turning of the earth, in nature and ..
- In sympathetic self-talk
- In self-acknowledgement
- And in writing poems full of what I cannot say in a space where my intention has already been decided for me.
I will say it now though
Into the emptiness of eternity

But there is only this to say
Love

Only love.
Just that.

For you to feel whoever you are ready

Nothing more to put out nor put off nor stand out. Not a memory or a question or a judgement.
