We'll Keep Singing

Started writing this a couple of days ago, and it finally came together this afternoon. I'm heavily inspired by the Parable of the Choir (https://www.tumblr.com/thesociologicalcinema/619456556152537088/a-friend-once-shared-what-she-called-the-parable), and the Liz James poem You Are Not On Call (https://www.lizjameswrites.com/news/2017/9/27/i0saz2urq44j8i78fe5wltjevdkr9f).
Rough demo. I haven't sung much in a couple days, but I'm back now.
Lyrics
(Capo 5)
G Em C D
V1
G D G
They say pack up your sorrows
G D G
Your thirsty boots are worn
C Em
How the enemies are winning
C D
And we have to sound the horn
G D G
They’ve been around forever
G D G
It’s a never-ending fight
C Em
To help uplift the helpless
C D
And to take back every night
V2
We’re beating swords to plowshares
And people into plows
We’re out to fight the good fight
And we have to do it now
We’re all in this together
And we have a place for you
Take a breath and we’ll keep singing
Just take one breath for you
Chorus
C D G Em
You are more than the wear on your thirsty boots
C D Em
You are more than the lonesome road
C D G Em
You are more than the protests and the never-ending fight
C D
You are more than the seeds you sowed
C D G Em
We are more than the speeches and the chanting
C D Em
We are more than the human zoo
C D G Em
Take a breath while we keep on singing
C D G
Take a breath for me and you
V3
I know you made a promise
I know you have a plan
To lead the charge, to light the way
To do everything you can
But you are not alone here
We’re all fighting this fight too
And we’re all in this together
Hold me up while I hold you
Chorus
C D Em
Just take one breath for me and you
C D Em
Just take one breath for me and you
C D G
Just take one breath for me and you
