Please ignore crappy singing but if the vibe is there. I think vocal is inspired by meeting and hearing this guy Calvin Arsenia from Kansas who was at the festival I just went to.. he’s incredible ( not me obvs) and I could hear that kind of delivery working. Check him out guys plays harp and piano too .. I was open mouthed

Listening back now I’m squirming with embarrassment .. maybe need to nail it down a bit more . Eeeuuuw but not deleting it yet

Oh, Liz - it’s so good to hear you. Looking forward to hearing all about your adventures. So much emotion in this one. That phrase “too hard” does a lot of lifting - feels like it is too hard to look back at all that happened. Regret, remorse, and so much gentle sorrow. I like how here’s room for the listener to decide divorce, death, estrangement.

Powerful momentum in these lyrics. I like the pivot on the word "hard" to portray a character who is inflexible and combative.

The short lines work so well with this subject and it's filled with great lines. Good skirmishing!

Oof, plenty of feels in this one. And the short lines (I'm kind of imagining how they might be delivered) seem to add to the sense of disbelief.
