Liner Notes

I wrote this on a festival having heard some conversations going on regarding wet sleeping bags etc. it wasn’t performed and Peter’s out into some notes ( it could be two songs one about leaks the other about other annoyances !!!) I did try it out briefly on uke

Erm it’s not a ballad just a simple repetitive singalong .. as @kahlo2013 says ..

Lyrics

Ballad of leaky tent grimness

[Am]Two nights in a leaky tent
[G]Two nights in a leaky tent
Two nights in a leaky tent
Oh [E7]woe oh woe is [Am] me.

I spent last night in a sleeping bag
A sleeping bag
A sleeping bag
I spent last night in a sleeping bag
That was wet and clammy and cold.

I woke feeling drops on my nose
On my nose
On my nose
I woke feeling drops on my nose
And I shivered in misery.

Am]Two nights in a leaky tent
[G]Two nights in a leaky tent
Two nights in a leaky tent
Oh [E7]woe oh woe is [Am] me.

I don’t know how i got through till this morning x3

Cause I was wretched as you see

I’ve got to contemplate my escape x3
Cause this is haunting me

All I want is to be warm x3
And to feel my frigging feet

My neighbours are all bastards (update:: this is now a whole song see later…)

Neighbours are all bastards cause they set up and they play
music through the fucking night and music through the day
They screech and whoop and revel drop the jungle beats from hell
They keep my nerves a jangling

Stuff that is all rubbish

Jungle music dropping all the time
Not even the good stuff

Haha! I was on a rainy campout once and I did NOT feel like singing, but if I'd had this song I might have been perversely cheered (even though the song has some valid complaints). I enjoyed the humor here.

Has a warm cozy pub drinking feel with content that you would sing while pub drinking and singing. The repeated lines give it a sense of living in that moment and I sense a general acceleration that works really well with the theme.

Was a little harder to follow toward the end as the piano was overpowering the lyrics just a bit but I got the jist and the posted lyrics helped.

I love this and it could be a favorite adult camp/festival song! It is a song that I can totally relate to from my camping and outdoor festival going days! The structure you brought to the lyric works really well and the images you create are perfect!
