I have no idea where this came from but here it is. Using the acoustic baritone for the first time in a while.

Okay, maybe it came from the monthly song circle prompt, "Can't Resist." Maybe. Now, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Lyrics

I think I hear a sound
Ever close to me
I think I hear my name
How can that be?

I wonder where my friends have gone
Why am I here alone?
I know that I do not belong
But I can't find my way home
Alone

A sudden breath of cold
My heart is slowing down
I fight to take another step
But I'm frozen to the ground

I wonder where my friends have gone
Why am I here alone?
I know that I do not belong
But I can't find my way home
Alone

I hear dogs barking in the night
I struggle to see the distant light
I wonder if this place is where I'm gonna die

Tiny specks of blood
Dripping from her lips
I fall into her eyes
I try but I can't quit (I try but can't resist)

Getting psychedelic rock vibes, maybe the baritone shining through on that or just the effects in general. Really hits the note of confusion throughout. The background effects on the “hear dogs barking” part is super cool and effective. Vampire?

Like a 60's write from the underground birthed to mainstream darkness!

Super spooky guitar line on that baritone. Feels very natural when the vocal starts following it. Then, when the chorus hits, the delicious edge of distortion you put on the vocals is awesome. Let’s not delve further into where these unsettling lyrics came from, particularly that last bit 😬 Am I allowed to say I enjoyed it but also found it very disturbing?

this is amazing. the way you play with the vocal production and building the song is incredibly evocative. Have you heard of the Legendary Pink Dots? This ranks up there with their finest and darkest emo-before-there-was-emo!

Wow! The melody reminds me of Chopin's Funeral March. Your monotone singing fits perfectly! At first I thought it was a broken heart song - then it sounds like someone is dying and then the last verse turns it into a horror film! Greatly constructed!
And the ending is also very well chosen: quick cut - over!

strong song!

Amazing buzz, I love it... reminds me of Syd Barrett but more attractive.. so inspiring and the echo or reverb is great.
And I love the lyrics too.... I haven't posted yet but you've pushed me to the edge.. I have the weekend free so thank you for the wonderful song and the inspiration it has given me...
