Tranquility

Liner Notes

This is probably one of the only 'slow' tracks on my album. So enjoy, make it uplifting or melancholy whatever you think the song evokes.
It's another long one, I was almost scared it was gonna be like 5 minutes, I'm thinking there'll be like five more long ones but we'll see how it plays out, that's still more long songs than my previous album.

Lyrics

Take a deep breath, wake up without stress
Hear a little voice, calling, calling your name
You're floating, upwards
You're losing, conscience

Walk through a lane of trees
In your favorite season
Pictures of fleeing moments rise above your head
Leaving impressions of their prowess ahead
Don't forget, you are special
But just like everyone else you need to pause

Slowly, marching, towards, serene, tranquility

Everywhere around you the sky is blue
The birds in the trees sing you a tune
Think back to the days of sitting on the floor
Looking through grandma's old polaroids
Moments of happiness that only exist
Within fractions of a second
After which they cease to persist
Haven't you thought about moments of clarity
Having it feel like time stands still

Slowly, marching, towards, serene, tranquility

Where's the feeling I once had?
Crawling through the grass
Finding the unknown again
Holding what I once held

We never find the time to take a break
To look back on what we left behind
When what we're left to find
Is something no one wants
So let the water run down
Take a deep breath, wake up without stress

Slowly, marching, towards, serene, tranquility

(Lay down, lay down, lay down, lay down, lay down)

Slowly, marching, towards, serene, tranquility

This feels like a good one to do with yoga or similar. The music has a cool, rolling quality that takes away the thoughts expressed towards a quiet, peaceful place. Fresh details add to the "place" we go when listening (grandma's polaroids). Good one!
