Lyrics

7in7 prompt: Hurricane/Tropical Storm Beryl or storms in general (whether literal or figurative)

Boats tied down with
Storm clouds rolling
Off the distant sky

Boarded windows
Rain starts pouring
Hold on for your life

Darkness sweeps
The beaches swelling
With the creeping tide

Lock your doors
And flee the city
Leave your home behind

Leave your home behind

Wind is howling
Waves are breaking
Docks all disappear

Hail is falling
Shingles flying
The eye still isn’t here

The lighthouse beam
Saw vessels stranded
On the angry sea

Sailors battened
Down the hatches
Dodging the debris

Dodging the debris

That arpeggiated piano line feels like waves of rain battering the song as the narrator tries to flee. Very impressive. The descending melody creates a sense of impending doom.
