I can't believe that I started fawm as a teenager and now I am 35/36 years old (mid-fawm birthday on the 13th), happily doing music and audio work year-round in my humble little home studio. It's like teen-fawmer-katie's dream come true.

I have a lot of ideas going into this challenge, and I don't exactly know what I will make.

Katie - I would LOVE this - I admire what you do so much! My energy seriously pooped out after moving and I think all I'll be managing for the remaining time are skirmishes. But we should definitely, definitely figure out something!

Hi Katie, I did send lyrics straight away a second time! Did you get them ok? I just saw you have a song called rose coloured glasses, must have a listen, I wrote one titled this many years ago and still a fav I still play it out regularly

Hey, I get it. I liked Carrie Brownstein before Portlandia. But my kid didn't like Sleater-Kinney nearly as much as he liked Little Monster Babies lol. Actually he doesn't like Sleater-Kinney at all 😂

I do hope we can agree that Juno is a timeless classic though. Otherwise we may not be able to work together anymore...

Hi Katie, I sent you my message via Bandcamp.

Hi Katie, we are paired for random collaboration round 3. Let's chat about the ideas :)

You're mighty welcome, thanks for sharing a song that spoke to my heart as a parent. To insert a picture, put the URL on its own line. No brackets, no code, just has to be hosted somewhere.

I don't think I do have it 😬 a wav file would be sweet, but whatever is easiest for you. Steptide@gmail.com

I did send you an email yesterday! I will send something to you shortly.

Ooh! So good! Sounds like Anderson Paak. Love that vibe. Will defintiely be getting them. Thanks so much, Katie!

Thanks for the drum loop info. Inspired me to actually use my SSD5 Free samples since I can't use Logic's drummer in Reaper.
[avatar]
Awesome! Let's do it! What email can I send a link to the song so you can check it out?

Thanks for the comments on my stuff Katie! I’ve been busy, squeezing this in as I can. I’m doing it differently this year. These have been written already (have 12 in all) but I’m arranging and recording (and revising as I go). Looking forward to checking out your stuff this year!

Ah! I thought it might have been iZotope, but assumed maybe Stutter Edit. I love the Vocoder sound. It's one of my favorites, hearing a machine sound human. Worked with VocalSynth2 a little but could never get it to do what I wanted. Will revisit! Thanks!

Hi Katie! Thanks for listening to my song.
There are a couple of lines that I was hoping would help pull off the idea that it was going one direction but in fact, the narrator takes it another way.

I was really holding on to this one and felt like I couldn't focus on another song till I finally put it up here. Hopefully I can catch up in the next week. Thanks again.

Been enjoying your songs! Found ya on Apple Music too and listened also to “Cry Now”! Added to my library. A great tune and great production! Keep on keepin’ on!

Just been listening to your songs - beautiful stuff! It seems you have a few collabs happening so you might be too busy, but I'd love to throw my hat in the ring too if you're up for it?
[avatar]
Happy to be here! What are we collabing on? 😂
[avatar]
Hi! I logged in lol
[avatar]
Hey, I just listened to laundry and taxes and I have a pop rock song that I think might fit your vocal style. Would you be interested in checking it out to see if we can do a collab?

Regarding effects in Power To the People part 13, believe it or not it's just freebie VSTs for the guitar sound, one panned a bit left the other to the right. That's it. No widening plugs etc. Heck i didn't even mix the song!
Looks like I do a better mix when I don't mix.

Bwahahahahaha

Thank you Katie! I’ve always wanted to write a semi-educational FAWM-specific song. Well, F.U.C., I’ve done it now.
[avatar]
That is so sad, condolences to your toilet
[avatar]
Ah, I've been there, done that and bought the t-shirt on toilet unblocking.

For a while it felt like one of my kids would go through a toilet roll every time. Keep practising though, mine still do it and there in their 20s now...
[avatar]
OMG the reveal about your teenager being the inspo for your song. LOVE LOVE ... so relatable (although mine is 23 now 😀 )

Hi Katie. That is amazing that you started doing this as a teen. Really looking forward to hearing what you do this year. Happy fawm!
