Liner Notes

Last attempt at this one, this time a bit more literal...think spies

Lyrics

If you want to look inside the closet
You’ll need a skeleton key
The padlock looks quite sturdy
They installed it for the cocktail party

It’s down the hall, second door on the left
Be sure that you’re not seen
If you get caught behind the lines
You’ll have to think on your feet

We won’t be there to protect you
You’ll have to take your chances
But try your best and find what you can
And use your skeleton key

Debriefing is at midnight
Most of the guests will be gone
If it’s still busy at that time
We’ll leave it till the dawn

Don’t forget your skeleton key
You’re a man of mystery
Skeleton key
What’s in the closet?

For me this was a fascinating rhythmic listening experience. The staggered, reggae type beat was hypnotic and carried me through the mystery of pondering what would result from the eventual discoveries made by the protagonist. The "debriefing" (promised? threatened?) added a bit of ominous tone to the conclusion. Very enjoyable tune!

I listened before reading liner notes. I totally had a scene from a 007 movie in my mind and then went right to Secret Agent Man. Love it!
