The Party

an imaginary party scenario/protest song of sorts.
Swell Season on the table = listening to a swell season record
Katie = Katie Crutchfield from Waxahatchee (been listening to her last two albums a lot lately. I don't actually know her lol.)

This is a good start for this song production wise. I already know what else I want to add to it to finish it off. Some tweaks here and there and it's gonna be a good one I think!

Lyrics

fugue state flow and your heart pours out
new skin glow on the moisturized parts
got my finger pinched in harmonics
It hurts as infection sets in

Swell Season on the table
Katie singing on the porch
songs of Philadelphia
and thinking about loss

dead skin picking off a fingertip
shed it like we left the past
it’s not worth keeping score
but I’ll take the award

Swell Season on the table
Katie singing on the porch
songs of Philadelphia
and thinking about loss

I remark it’s kinda funny
how terrible this is
how did it get this bad?
can’t let the fascists win

i feel the solemn shifting
there’s something in the air
we look up from our phones
“can’t let the fascists win”

What a vibe! I love the lyrics… has a nice pulse that pushes everything along. Really enjoy the tones of the guitars. 👍

This one has a War on Drugs feel to me, simultaneously driving and reflective.

This is a beautiful song. It has such a nostalgic feel to it, like we are in the porch with you and Katie singing about loss. Nice job!
