Liner Notes

Just sat around with an acoustic guitar figuring out a simple chord pattern, recorded it, then wrote the lyrics off the top of my head in a free-form way as I listened to the playback, then recorded the vocal in one take.

This had a great laid back feel to it. Like a Neil Young acoustic song. Pairs well with the darker sentiments. Thoughts of leaving are quite real, but of course there would be some regret. I like the vantage point of this one. Right as the ship sails. It's quite universal. Sailing out to new lands. This one is pretty minimalistic lyrically for you, which I think really works. Makes you really hone in on what's happening. You can totally see that boat leaving and the land receding. Really nice vocal and guitar work. Love that it came quickly for you. Sometimes the best ones do.

This is an interesting introspection on leaving your homeland behind. The sorrow and doubt come through beautifully. I know a few of my friends and relatives in MN have considered heading to Canada after November. But ultimately stayed. Anyway beautiful guitar and vocal melody. Don’t go Joe…
