The Glass

Liner Notes
Inspiration can come from the strangest places. You never know where it will strike, just like the urge to write a song. This came out of no where and I may put it to music before the end of Feb.
Lyrics
The Glass
© Feb. 2025
It’s origin dates back 4 centuries
When a vessel was needed to hold
Either wine or maybe some water
And could be made out of sand or of gold
Whether goblet, highball or tumbler
It’s been called by a number of names
It’s been hewn from the heart of a timber
Or been shaped by the heat of the flames
It may have once been held by a noble
And been hoisted to signal a toast
It may have been filled with some whiskey
To wash down the Mrs. pot roast
A vessel so needed, so handy
It has since become commonplace
The glass will always be with us
It’s not something we could ever replace
So remember the next time you’re thirsty
And your whistle just needs to be whet
You don’t have to fret or be worried
Just mix up a vodka gimlet
Well written!
