Liner Notes

This is from page 32 of Chris Brookmyre's "Fallen Angel". It's a good book. Read it. (The song has nothing to do with it, but it's a good book)

Lyrics

First she went to the bathroom
Then she went to buy sunglasses
Something doesn’t seem quite right
She’s getting jumpy, just before the flight

Aaron’s in his buggy sitting tight
He doesn’t really seem to mind
I’m looking for signs, in the airport lounge
But meaning can be hard to find

The guy with dark glasses is reading a paper
You’d think that would make it hard
He’s trying his best, to blend in like wallpaper
Thinks he’ll catch me off my guard

But I’m too wise for that
Too long in the field
I’m subtle like an acrobat
My fate is not yet sealed

This is such a well crafted and well delivered lyric full of observation and insight. Really fabulous melody and wonderfully delivered. I really love that last stanza. I definitely want to read the book now!

A slice of life in an airport lounge. You certainly bring it to life. The last verse is so cool. I'm subtle like an acrobat stands out. I will be thinking about that! well done
