Liner Notes

Just noticed there was a skirmish on, so had a quick go

Lyrics

Gotta keep it on the down low
The baby’s sleeping in the room next door
She needs her rest and her mother too
So I’ll sing a quiet song for you

Feels like I’m hanging on a precipice
Haven’t slept since I don’t know when

The sky was pink but now it’s turned to grey
Another dismal looking kind of day
I’m not downhearted when it looks this way
Gives an impetus to everything we say

Gotta keep it together for my baby
Gotta keep it together for my girl
Feels like I’m hanging on a precipice
I haven’t slept since I don’t know when

The start really sets up the situation. I feel like Im sitting on the couch in that room, trying to keep my voice down and listening to this quiet, beautiful song. Your bluesy, whispering voice really fits the song!

I don’t have kids but I’ve got family members with newborns who I think are feeling this right now! Nicely done with the quiet delivery

This is a nice song, and your voice is relaxing. Which goes really well with the lyrics.
