Liner Notes

Rain gets a sad rap in a lot of songs. I wanted to play with that a bit by framing it as a source of life and renewal. I wasn’t super happy with this, but ah well, moving on in the spirit of FAWM. Sorry for my sloppy attempted #jazz #trombone playing.

Can you guess the weather as I was writing this? 😜

Lyrics

Rain in the streets and
rain in my heart
I don’t even know where
I’m supposed to start
Life was so simple
Life was so plain
Now I’m falling like the rain

(trombone solo)

I’d go out with boys but always
felt so incomplete
Any thought I had was always
timid and discreet
You came on like a flood and
nearly swept me off my feet
I’d fall for you a thousand times again

Rain to erode and
rain to renew
I have never grown more
than I have with you
Lovely to see and
hard to retain
loving you is like the rain

I really like the trombone solo! I think it worked really well.

Gorgeous trombone solo! I like the easy breezy nature of the guitar strumming. The lyrics are very light-hearted and sweet. Made me think of a jolly walk in Paris during a light, summer rain. Delightful!
