Liner Notes

My MIL is 91, she had a fallen and broke her ribs and fractured her back.
They had to put in a tube to remove the fluid around her lungs.
In serious pain she wouldn't stay in her bed and pulled on the tubes.
They had to perform micro-surgery because the tube nicked the spleen.
She can't walk w/o help and her hands are unusable from a stroke
She is still willing, but the body is not.
I am trying to keep my spirits up!

Hospitals scare me and while I waited I penned this one

Lyrics

Walking through the hospital late at night,
Ghosts often dwell just before they take flight,
Thru the hallways they roam just out of sight,
I feel them pass thru me as if they were ice.

The worried walk softly, trying to find their way
A man stands and argues with the parking valet
A wheelchair pivots then it starts rolling away
There was no one in it and I'm a little freaked...ok?

Security ran by me as the cacophony ensued
A very large fellow didn't want to be subdued
A suit with a mic say's "this is the 6pm news"
A poor woman cries trying to hide her bruise

Unfolding before me in a hospital late at night,
Ghosts often dwell just before they take flight,
You often don't see them, but feel their plight
Just walking through a hospital late at night

Damn that's good. "Ghosts often dwell just before they take flight" – not only a brilliant line, but also a thought I've had about hospitals myself before.

This is so well done. Hospitals can be scary places, especially at night. You captured that sentiment here so well. I sure hope your MIL gets better soon. Sounds like she’s in a rough place. Sending you and your family extra warm thoughts

Sounds like a scary time and place. Hope for the best for you MIL. Its not a fun place to be, as i know well from my own family. I'd love to hear the arrangement once this is recorded. Nice lyrics Matt!
