One More Day

Just keep swimming.

Lyrics

G C D
Let’s just make it one more day,
Our problems they could go away,
C G Bm C
There’s things to do and bills to pay,
C D G
Let’s make it one more day.

G
One more Day,
C G
One more Day,
C D G C
What’re the Orange Clown may say,
C D G
We’ll make it one more day.

Let’s just make it one more day,
Though the skies be dark and gray,
We still have time to laugh and play,
Let’s make it one more day.

Let’s just make it one more day,
We can’t fight if we do not stay,
We’ll step again into the fray,
And make it one more day.

Let’s just make it one more day,
For those we lost along the way,
Ships to the west are at the quay,
Let’s make it one more day.

That is the best we can do, so thank you for the encouragement to at least keep doing that. Really lovely listening.

Oh my -- this is lovely! (I had to stop by since @dudachris invoked me in his comment.). I love the simple and clear structure and the message that simultaneously is powerful (and ecouraging) and not at all sappy. ("we can't fight if we do not stay" is key). Gotta go hear what else you're writing!

Beautiful mandolin playing and gorgeous vocals. I just checked to see where you are from - I would have guessed Ireland. Lucky you don't live here if orange clown is who I think it is! This song is so lovely and I am enjoying every note. Realistic hope - one day at a time - I love it. I agree with @dudachris on this kind of music and just listened to "Bird By Bird" which I had not heard before. I have seen Joe live - and when he sang "Able, Baker, Charlie and Dog" I literally got chills. The power of music.

This was so good! It reminds me of why I like @bethdesombre's music so much. Vulnerable, hurting voices singing real songs and with hope. It also reminds me of the song "Bird by Bird" by Joe Crookston a folk singer you may already know (introduced to me by Filkers).

Well, I held back the tears for half the song. You’ve chosen a melody that has such hope. And captured the way I feel each day so well. I hear the call of the ships but each day I make it and hope I won’t need to leave.

@mhorning quay was mispronounced for the sake of the rhyme here. Was playing a Hora bouzouki.

Interesting that you pronounce Quay (as kay) in the American way, rather than the British (Key) which for us USAians are small islands off of Florida.

Bouzouki sounds great (unless it's an octave Mando?)
