Thrower Of Loops

Liner Notes

This track is very different for me, because I’ve just used some of the 1,000s of loops you get when you buy Native Instruments Komplete Ultimate. This is the 2nd part of my mid-season ‘loops’ experiment, the other one being “Fantom Flute Loop”. I always thought that using pre-recorded loops was a bit of a cheat, because I wasn’t actually recording anything. But to actually put a full 3 minute track together, picking out just the right loops to go together, dragging them around the timeline etc, making sure that all of them sound good together and sound anything like the track you had in mind....welll...it proves to be pretty difficult. But you’ll be the judge as to how it sounds!

Not there has to be a winner or loser, but probably doing the loop thing in Reaper is slightly more time consuming, however, it offers WAY more things you can do once you bring the loops in. I’ve enjoyed myself that is the main thing.

Used to make this track:
Reaper DAW (very handy of course, like all DAW’s I suspect, it auto-adjusts the tempo of the many loops I’ve chucked at it). Used Reaper for a few effects and panning bits and bobs.
Ozone 10
Loads of loops from NI Komplete Ultimate

Very cool man! Ya sampling is comes with its own set of weirdness but as you start manipulating the loops and trying different things you can get a whole new world of creativity going…is that a 60s Star Trek communicator chirp? That’s what it is even if it’s not. Very cool tune with lots of movement. Successful experimentation.

I'd dance to it. Wait, no. I mean I am currently dancing to it from my chair. I don't know about creating music with loops, so I can't comment on that, but to sounds good to me!
