Lyrics I've been ruminating over the last few days.

I like where this idea is headed, but I don't have time to flesh it out, unfortunately, so here's a rough demo I made in one hour to get the idea across.

Lyrics

Palm leaves resting easy
At the crowning of the sea

One soul away from knowing
What’s the sound of falling trees

Calm waves make for calmer days
To set this sorrow free

You’ll be in my dreams
Even long after you leave

Count the follicles of greenery
Mark the pebbles as they pass
Every article of scenery
In my library of glass

Many years have been my family
Now this wonder is my own
Every hope and dream I’d ever need
To leave and never be alone

So I throw the vessel
Far into Poseidon
Watching as she wrestles
With his mighty trident

Stormy waves are stirring
The heavens and the water
Father’s heart is worried
For his little daughter

So I throw the vessel
Far into Poseidon
Watching as she wrestles
With his mighty trident

Stormy waves are stirring
The heavens and the water
Father’s heart is worried
For his little daughter

Count the follicles of greenery
Mark the pebbles as they pass
Every article of scenery
In my library of glass

Many years have been my family
Now this wonder is my own
Every hope and dream I’d ever need
To leave and never be alone

So I throw the vessel
Far into Poseidon
Watching as she wrestles
With his mighty trident

Stormy waves are stirring
The heavens and the water
Father’s heart is worried
For his little daughter

Yet the valiant vessel
Braves the great Poseidon
Soon enough she nestles
In the gold horizon

Misty eyes are blurring
The heavens and the water
Father’s heart is yearning
For his parted daughter

So I throw the vessel (Palm leaves resting easy)
Far into Poseidon
Watching as she wrestles (At the crowning of the sea)
With his mighty trident

Stormy waves are stirring (One soul away from knowing)
The heavens and the water
Father’s heart is worried (What’s the sound of falling trees)
For his little daughter

Yet the valiant vessel (Calm waves make for calmer days)
Braves the great Poseidon
Soon enough she nestles (To set this sorrow free)
In the gold horizon

Misty eyes are blurring (You’ll be in my dreams)
The heavens and the water
Father’s heart is yearning (Even long after you leave)
For his parted daughter

I was clicking through "Random Song" and hit on this beauty! I glanced at the lyrics, not reading the words, just noticing that there were a lot of them, so I checked the length of the song: well under 3 minutes! So I had to listen to see how you did it! Ah! You didn't! Mystery solved. It was still a lovely experience. Thank you.

I loved these lyrics. You really have a knack for painting with words. The Posideon part really touched me actually. I can't wait to hear when you finish it💯

Dreamy feel and lyrics to match. Loving your voice.
I can imagine this opening with this very bare production, but at some point something a bit more rhythmic kicking in and later falling away again.
I look forward to hearing where you take this.
