Liner Notes

This is the 4th song that I am creating for an upcoming film. I have had to be busy this weekend. let me know if you think of it, please.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Woke up this morning, sun was shining bright,
Jazz bands playing, it’s a perfect sight.
Street’s alive with rhythm, tapping my shoes,
Gonna dance all day to these New Orleans blues.

[Chorus]
Oh, with a Jambalaya smile, and a rhythm so fine,
Let the good times roll, leave your troubles behind.
With the trumpet blowin’ and the sax so wild,
We’re groovin’ down Bourbon Street, with a Jambalaya smile.

[Verse 2]
Grab a beignet, coffee in my hand,
Second line parade with the brass band.
Life’s a celebration, every single day,
Gonna keep on moving, in the Big Easy way.

[Chorus]
Oh, with a Jambalaya smile, and a rhythm so fine,
Let the good times roll, leave your troubles behind.
With the trumpet blowin’ and the sax so wild,
We’re groovin’ down Bourbon Street, with a Jambalaya smile.

[Verse 3]
Met an old man playing on his old guitar,
Singing ‘bout his love and his dreams afar.
Said, “Son, don’t worry, just live while you can,
‘Cause life’s a big parade with a swingin’ band.”

[Chorus]
Oh, with a Jambalaya smile, and a rhythm so fine,
Let the good times roll, leave your troubles behind.
With the trumpet blowin’ and the sax so wild,
We’re groovin’ down Bourbon street, with a Jambalaya smile.

[Bridge]
All the worries fade away in this town,
When the piano plays, it’ll turn you around.
We’re all family when we’re feelin’ that beat,
From the bayou breeze to the crowded street.

[Chorus]
Oh, with a Jambalaya smile, and a rhythm so fine,
Let the good times roll, leave your troubles behind.
With the trumpet blowin’ and the sax so wild,
We’re groovin’ down Bourbon Street, with a Jambalaya smile.

[Outro]
So grab your hat, your shoes, and your heart,
Let the music take you right from the start.
In New Orleans, where joy runs a mile,
We’re living and loving with a Jambalaya smile.

What a great New Orleans style feel to this song! This is super catchy! I'm sure the filmmakers will be happy!

This is very good. The vocal is great and I really like the way the music drops out at times and allows the vocal to shine. The music is good but has a slight AI feel to it. If you could add a live real trumpet part then it would really add another dimension. I agree with @billwhite51 re the combination of jambalaya and smile. They are both great single additions to the lyrics but together they kind of clash. Overall though this is a very positive, cheerful song that I'm sure will add a lot to your project.

lyrics are perfect for this interpretation of new orleans music. one thing is a little off though. jambalaya smile sounds so good as a title phrase but the reality of one is kind of disgusting, i would prefer one kept ones mouth shut while eating jambalaya, imagine what would be stuck betweeen the teeth of a jambalaya smile. but that reality does not minimize the joyous sound of a phrase that (dismisssing the visual) helps send this song dancing along bourbon street with a rollicking sense of carnival liberation.
