Raver Neighbour

by @edwardsmusic

Liner Notes

I was listening to the first phone recording I made at my old music program, dated 1 April 2017. I was jamming with a mentor in a small room, and we heard loud music in the auditorium next door. Apparently a church was holding a concert there and someone was performing.

This is an approximation of what I had heard. Listening back to the recording, I discerned three chords being played throughout the song.

I created the music using virtual instruments on Mixcraft, using my computer keyboard as a MIDI controller. This was done in August 2024. The lead instrument is "Bright Vox".

I applied an EQ effect to the master track, titled "Raver Neighbor". Thus, the entire track sounded muffled, which seemed appropriate given its origin.

What excellent inspiration! so clever to turn it into this really nice piece of music!

Love the idea of taking an overheard muffled recording and making something new from it.
The switch between the straight chords and the arpeggios gives a nice movement.
