How quickly the trance falls away, when it does.

Lyrics

There was a woman sitting here
Her name was Rose
But the scent was lavender
All over her clothes
She mentioned Montreal
But now I wonder
There must have been a spell
That I was under

Suddenly the party’s over
I look around and everyone is sober
And everyone I ask says they didn’t know her
So was it all a dream
I mean
What just happened here

I remember once
When I was ten
A post-hypnotic trance
That I was in
I left the stage
To the sound of laughter
Went home in a daze
Ten minutes after

Suddenly the party’s over
I look around and everyone is sober
And everyone I ask says they didn’t know her
So was it all a dream
I mean
What just happened here

This doubt still lingers
I wiggle my fingers
I am really here
But where is Rose
Where did you go I call
If you were ever here at all
And after all
Nobody knows

How can so much change
In the blink of an eye
Goodbye

Suddenly the party’s over
I look around and everyone is sober
And everyone I ask says they didn’t know her
So was it all a dream
I mean
What just happened here

Such a great story unfolds in this song and you deliver it well…. I love the little details and quirky fun bits like Rose had the scent of lavender…. The chorus is great!

Definitely a tear-jerker and the chorus is well written. I particularly like the first two lines of the chorus. It rings in your ears. Nice work!

I enjoyed this one. Nice storytelling and a very hummable chorus
