Liner Notes

This started off as a bit of a free write. I sat in the rehearsal room at the St Albans Community Centre, and wrote about what I saw around me in the room. The starting point for this song was seeing a book titled "MY LIFE AS A WORK OF ART".

This was recorded on my phone at home on the 17th of August, done in one take. I sang and played my Yamaha keyboard.

I'm sitting in this rehearsal room
Books on top of the piano
Literature about art
I smell the warm air

I can't seem to get it quite right
Hammering out ideas
Gotta put my thinking cap on
Try to drown out the noise

Some guy doing his work next to me
Not much time to spare
Sounds broken up by silence
Outside voices break the dead air
