Call You Out

by @edwardsmusic

Liner Notes

This was written in a mentoring session with Rhys Renwick (my current mentor at my course Wild at Heart Community Arts).

This was written and recorded on my phone on the 14th of August 2024. This song was written as a pastiche of Nirvana's "Something in the Way".
Our guitars were tuned to DADGAD.

Edward Roussac - lead vocals, nylon-string guitar
Rhys Renwick - backing vocals, acoustic guitar

Lyrics

You put me in a bad spot
3 o'clock on the dot
The bright light hurts my eyes
And now I realise
You're not what you appear to be
You're not the things you say to me
You put me in a bad spot
It's almost like you hate me

Call you out
Call you out
Call you out
Call you out

You put me in a bad spot
3 o'clock on the dot
The bright light hurts my eyes
And now I realise
You're not what you appear to be
You're not the things you say to me
You put me in a bad spot
It's almost like you hate me

Call you out
Call you out
Call you out
Call you out

I hear that touch of Nirvana in there but it’s its own song! I really enjoyed the lyric really holds the attention

Oooo… that opening guitar is so mysterious and intriguing. The lyrics give voice to what the guitar is trying to say. The vocals come in for an assist. Well done!
